My fuel pump is making a humming noise when the key is off
WEBJul 22, 2017 · The sound may be a vacuum in the tank. People have reported whistling sounds from the tank after switching off. When you hear the noise, open the fuel tank and listen if it sucks air in. There are oneway valves on the vent hoses that could be blocked, if this is the case. It doesn't sound feasible for the pump to run with the power off.
