WEBJul 23, 2021 · And for TMDB, while you do get public view of the score breakdown, I noticed for titles with very few votes, they are rated incredibly low. Also, I notice, in general, for each show, rating from TVDB is skewed towards higher score, IMDB being in the middle and TMDB tends to be on the lower end.

There’s the TV Parental Guidelines ratings (such as TV-PG, TV-14, etc.), and there’s a mature content flag used to denote particularly strong sexual content and/or violence. These two things exist completely independent from one another. There are shows rated TV-MA that do not have the mature content flag.

WEBJun 8, 2023 · For TV shows, Plex uses data from themoviedb.org and thetvdb.com. Plex does not have a license from IMDB to use their TV show ratings. Thetvdb.com removed ratings from their system several months ago. That left themoviedb as the only source Plex uses for TV show ratings.
