The New Jersey Devils traded for Jacob Markstrom during the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Markstrom comes to New Jersey as the expected savior in goal after the team struggled to keep pucks out of the net last season. The veteran netminder has not been with the team for a huge amount of time. However, he has quickly taken to the vibe in the locker room.

Jacob Markstrom saved 14 of 16 shots in two periods during his start in Sunday night's preseason game against the Islanders.

Months of summer away from one another didn't damage the chemistry between Nico Hischier and Jesper Bratt. Hischier and Bratt picked up right where they always left off, assisting and contributing to one another goals.

The New Jersey Devils got off to a good start in their third preseason game against the Washington Capitals but struggled in the second and third periods. Despite some late third period pressure, the Devils lost 5-3.
