The first step toward rebuilding or replacing Hampton High School was taken on Tuesday evening when the Carter County School Board voted unanimously to spend $300,000 on the cleaning up of the flood-damaged property.

The Carter County Board of Education (BOE) met on Tuesday at a special called meeting to discuss the clean-up and repairs at Hampton High School. The school building and surrounding property were severely damaged after flooding from Hurricane Helene.
