Carter County Schools are providing hot meals, laundry services and more to those impacted by severe weather and flooding. Meals can be picked up from the following schools Monday-Friday from 11:30 a.

The Carter County Board of Education (BOE) met on Tuesday at a special called meeting to discuss the clean-up and repairs at Hampton High School. The school building and surrounding property were severely damaged after flooding from Hurricane Helene.

Carter County Schools is providing hot disaster relief meals available for curbside pickup, Monday through Friday, until further notice. The schedule is as follows:  — Cloudland Elementary, 8540 U.S.

The first step toward rebuilding or replacing Hampton High School was taken on Tuesday evening when the Carter County School Board voted unanimously to spend $300,000 on the cleaning up of the flood-damaged property.
