NORFOLK, Va. — Carnival Cruise Line has set new sailings to go out of Norfolk in 2026. On Tuesday, the cruise line announced it will offer a variety of itineraries leaving from the Port of Norfolk aboard the Carnival Sunshine, including four-to-seven day cruises to Bermuda.

After the tragic Francis Scott Key Bridge collapse, both Carnival and Royal Caribbean used Norfolk, Virginia as a temporary port. That was a reasonable solution with Baltimore's port being closed but it was a logistical challenge for many passengers who had booked planning to leave from one port to have their cruise moved to another.

Carnival Sunshine will arrive at the terminal for its first cruise on Feb. 11, said the director of Norfolk’s Half Moone Cruise and Celebration Center. This will be the start of year-round

Carnival Cruise Line had to evacuate Grand Turk early due to incoming weather. This was during Hurricane Ernesto, and Carnival Magic needed to leave the dock before the storm arrived. Such situations are rare but they do happen,
