HISD will allow the Waltrip High School band to perform at the 2025 Sugar Bowl in New Orleans after previously deciding that the band wouldn't be attending the game, according to the Mayor's Office. The reversal comes after Mayor John Whitmire offered the help of Houston Police Department officers to HISD Superintendent Mike Miles.
