Sony’s PS5 Pro, a $700 mid-gen upgrade of the PlayStation 5, launches later this week. And ahead of its official launch, Sony has sent over a PS5 Pro for us to play with and poke at. And while I can’t say anything (yet) about how games play or look on the new console, I can at least walk you through opening the box.

Thankfully, Sony has you covered with an official PlayStation Blog post which confirms more than 50 PS5 games are set to receive PS5 Pro enhancement patches when the mid-gen console launches on November 7.

The PS5 Pro's goal is to push the boundaries of performance and visual fidelity further, and a large part of this is its focus on hardware-accelerated upscaling. Sony wants smoother gameplay that looks great, even if the end result may be less significant than players were expecting.
